Mad ECM Impressions

Well guys I have finally gotten to give the Mad ECM a try and here are my initial impressions. Now remember that I was very skeptical of the ECM do to what I had read on a few posts.

First off let me say that the bottum end power on the truck was greatly improved over what an Edge EZ provides. Turbo spoolup is greatly increased, this is with running a steroid B-1 which really likes rpm to get it going. Not that the turbo is terrible its just not an HX35. The Mad Ecm really helps in the spoolup dept.

The truck makes more total boost boost than it did prior to the install. On this truck running injectors and an EZ I would make 37-38 lbs. boost, with the addition of the Mad ECM boost is now running in the 42-43 lbs range. The fueling box on the truck was removed for an updated program and should be back on soon so hopefully I will have more data to share.

As I mentioned before I was skeptical and sometimes even downright negative towards the unit. I need to take everything back and tell everyone that if you are looking for a great driving enhancement the Mad ECM would be a great choice.

Oh, and rumor has it that Marco's working on some cool improvements for the ECMs.

I personally don't see how it could be much better.

I am going to be using a Redline box so more power is in the works. I also have a SPS66 sitting here to give a try but I want the initial data to be based against what I have been currently running (only change one thing at a time).

Hey Jetpilot I also just installed MAD ECM yesterday but couldn't really tell a difference because of the snowstorm we had. But I will say this it was a real greased pig trying to drive it. LOL. Even with the comp off it was a little more difficult to handle. Today roads are much better and just got back from a short trip and all I can say is WOW what a difference. Doubt if the comp will get much use this winter but, Look out next spring. I also must say this is a great upgrade. Can't go wrong with this unit!!!!! ouch my face hurts already. Perma grin gotta luv it

Please do not purchase any more ecm's to be flashed, we ended that program this past week.

Thank you

I heard something about that. What's the deal with that? Are yall quitting the ECM or just doing reflashes of your personal ECM only?

Good thing I'm broke. Guess I'll wait for v2.0

I was looking at ecm upgrades on a ferd page yesterday and they have a ecm with a switch and you could have each point on the switch correspond to a ecm command/program. such as no start, high idle, stock, 60 hp, 100 hp,...

How cool would that be

Yes, what is the procedure now.

I was thinking about getting a MAD, but keeping my OEM one "just in case", like for emissions testing or winter driving or the like.
