Mach's installed, which comp setting?

Ok guys got em installed yesterday and wow I'm all grins HOWEVER, it feels like it almost has more get up and go on 3x5 than 5x5. Possibly too much fuel for the stock turbo? Any experience with machs and the comp box in regards to which sub settings to use to get optimal performance? Oh and I know I'm going to jinx myself but my clutch is holding. Also on 5x5 I can get hit 40psi then it drops off to 34 or so. Is that my truck defueling or my wastegate opening? Other than that thanks to Matt(TigerRag) on here for the injectors, I have no complaints. Oh and on 5x5 I can pull the fuel down to 5 so Scotty's here I come.

sounds like you are defueling on 5x5

the reason it probably feels quicker on 3x5 is because its bogging from so much fuel. Try 5x4 or 5x3 and the box wont fuel so hard untill you have some boost built.

Ryan, what gearing do you have? Other than that, you have the same set up I had running those injectors.......well, except clutch. I put my clutch in before installing those. I was slipping the clutch with RV275's. It's a big difference on 5x5 and 3x5 on my truck, my truck would smoke like crazy and move on well. I'd get about 40lbs before defuel too. I added the Smarty and no more defuel......and it was entering the scary fast realm then too. By the way, when you get a chance to try the Smarty, be prepared, your clutch will slip!...but you will like it!

B.A.Ram tested my Smarty and was returned to Marcos Stock...which should eliminate defueling on an 01, I believe.

Keep your foot out of it stupid and it won't suck so much. Your probably choking the engine somewhat with all that fuel, that's why it feels slower. Oh well. Time for a new turbo.

Scotty's kit would be a good move. Do you install a boost elbow too?

You might want to check your intercooler boots. If you are building 40psi of boost, you could have blown one off. That would cause it to smoke on the lower settings......but it would also cause you to noticably lose power, unless it was a subtle leak.

I have the some set up on my pick up. If you start off on 3x5 then hit up the comp well in 3rd or 4th gear you can feel the power build up. But my truck does the exact same thing.

well boys how do we fix it???? I'll check my intercooler boots in the morning. I still have solid power so I don't think that is the problem. HOWEVER, my truck smells of diesel, I guess it has to be all the fuel it is throwing to it, b/c I don't see any leaks at the injectors. You "VETERANS" at the Sedalia meet can drive it and see if everything matches up

You shouldn't be smelling diesel in the cab. Even with my stacks and com pturned all the way up I can't smell anything.

that's what I thought. I filled up at a truck stop w/low sulphur highway diesel fuel not compatible w/2007 models and up. Don't know if it is the problem but it is a blatent (spelling*) fuel smell every now and then in the cab. Plus have any of you guys seen white smoke/haze coming out of your AC vents when you have it on sometimes or did I just imagine it????
