Long term/experiences with a MAD

I figure since some of you have had the MAD for a while, how do you like it after the "new toy" syndrone wore off? Anything you found out you did'nt like but would live with, and more towing mileage with them, not MPG, but experiences. Would some of you still suggest it after that fact of owning it for a while. Just asking since, somethings seem awesome at first, but after the newness wears off , its not a fun anymore.

I'm still waiting, oh wait! Nope, false alarm.

Seriously, I drove with an EZ for a year, it was fun, but this is funner (Is that a word?).

With your 275's...you will love it. Twice as responsive as an EZ and the perfect alternative to med. HP without having to pierce the IP wire.
If your Tranny is stock, you will need to be careful and not play too much (same as with an EZ).
You may get use to it...but the thrill of pulling away from a stop...just like you were in a powerful sedan, will never wear off.

You have asked for negatives also.
Only one minor point. You MUST roll into the throttle at all times. punching it hard (at least with big injectors) can cause near flooding...delayed spoolup, slow acceleration and heavy smoke. This can be hard to remember in panic situations where power is needed right away...was for me, anyway.
In fairness to MAD ECM...these were passing situations I should not have gotten into in the first place.

How about towing mpg, what are you seeing? Does it hurt mpg or help it?

Search for MAD or CATCHER. It a reprogrammed ECM. adds ~60HP but basically makes the deisel (24V) as responsive as a gasser. Bob Wagner is on here and sells them. MAD here
