lockup controller for 47RH?
lockup controller for 47RH?
Ive got a DTT build trans in my truck with the billet input and drum. Its got the DTT single disc convertor I think. It was built about 4 years / 30k ago.
Any thoughts on installing a lockup controller on the truck to help with power and economy? MY builder says doing anything hard with lockup engaged will just wear out the clutch. Im down to an abysmal 11mpg city so I need to do something. Also looking to install an exhaust brake anyways.
I see suncoast offers a controller, but Im not sure on whether it works with an OE computer.

i have an ats controller i like it buy my buddy that builds trans says i shouldn't use it.. i like it with my setup i can set the speed for lock up from 30mph and up and it doesn't come unlocked until 25ish. i had it with a stock"HD" converter and smoked it pretty quick thats probably the only problem you'll have.. the controller is also for exhaust brakes
Hmm, I bet the DTT clutch is a lot heavier, BUT I hear ya.. it sounds like a risk locking it up under power. The trans build wasnt cheap either
Id have to find out whether the lockup controller or the ECM take into account the throttle position so as to release the clutch at high throttle.
Either that or just remember to unlock it for playing around.
