light for gauges
light for gauges
My brother just bought a 98 that has issopro gauges. They are already hooked up but the light in gauges isn't. Was wondering where to hook up light wire, thinking maybe aux. light switch or maybe to power for radio?
Re:light for gauges
The best way I have found is to buy a fuse tap at the local parts store. It replaces an exsisting fuse, I use the dash light fuse, and provides another place for a fuse and a pigtail to connect to the gauges. They cost a few bucks, but you don't have to cut any factory wires and if you want to take it out, theres nothing to put back together.

Re:light for gauges
Farmer Dave,
I ran my wires for the gauge lights to the headlight switch, using a test light I was ble to find the wire working the dimmer for the dash lights, and now when I dim the dash the gauges dim as well. Not hard to do, and leaves spot for other fuse taps. My fuse panel is getting pretty populated already.
Just my .02.
