Lifting Rear of Truck

Howdy everyone, I got a question to ask. This past weekend UnrulyNFS aka Keegan along with myself and a friend put a 2.5" leveling kit on the front of my truck. To make this long story short she is sitting a little bit nose high at the moment. I want to go up slightly in the rear like 1" or 2". What would my opitions be? I would like to have the truck sitting nice for the upcoming NCDTR 18 get together next weekend. I'm currently looking at this http://www.4wheelfab.com/blki2inliin2.html I wish they had some instructions listed, I bought my leveling kit from them as well. What do you guys think of that? My truck stock has the 5" block under the factor spring and overloads. Is there somewhere I can get a 6" block or maybe put two 3" blocks on each side, I want to keep it as low as possible since I do pull a decent amount of gooseneck trailers with my truck and don't want to affect it that much. Also just so everyone knows, I got a set of proper Bilsteins on the way for truck. Thanks

Buy a add a leaf kit. It would add 1-2'' of lift and would be safer, in my opinion, than two blocks. Not exactly sure where to find them but I'm sure any 4x4 parts place will have them.
Good Luck

You never want to stack blocks. You can buy an add-a-leaf like CMoore said or you can do what i did and get a set of airbags and put them ontop of the overload springs. That way you can adjust to your likings and it will be better for towing.

add a leafs make for a very stiff ride, air bags are adjustable.

I understand that, I'd rather not have to deal with that stuff. I want it plan and simple because the ride doesn't bother me. If anyone doesn't have an opinions I'm going to order SkyJacker add a leafs tonight. Thanks

Im in the same boat. You can get a metal block 1" to stack with the leafs or get a new leaf which is taller. If you get a taller leaf you can get a much softer one and add air bags with a dump valve for towing. Should give you the best of both worlds.
Adding air bags to the stock suspension means its guaranteed to ride as hard or harder than stock without a load on it.

Not true. Thats what i thought at first too but when i put my bags at 60 psi it kicked the back end up and it's soft enough to absorb the bumps in the road even while towing. If the bags were fully inflated at 100 psi then yes i could see the ride being to stiff.

Just got my add a leafs today. Question, I have the factory overloads on my truck, do i still put the add a leaf as the instructions require on the bottom of the main stack? Thanks

On my truck I had to remove the overloads to add the extra spring leafs. For me the ride is about the same and/or slightly better than stock. I can take bumps with more speed and I don't have the rear spring bouncing out on the wash boards.

I got the Rough Country add-a-leaes in this week with new shocks (I lifted my 94 2wd with a 2.5" spring spacer from daystar and it made it a snooty looking - nose in the air) and when I went to install it I found out that the center holes in the add-a-leaves ( I got the long style) are too small and the pins are WAY smaller than the holes in the new leaves... so NOW I'm stuck with a truck that has the axle on the ground and I can't get the new center pins in for a week (!!!)... I am REALLY dissapointed in the fact that rough country (iw Heckethorn) would sell a product that doesn't fit and then wait till you call them to tell you that you need to order pins and drill out the springs after you've already torn apart your truck (!?!?!?!?). I was going to put it back with the factory pins but no one has them in stock... GAWD!!! What a day... Hope ya'll have better luck.

Johnny

Just my opinion here, but for functionality I would replace all of the rear leafs with a new spring pack set designed exactly for the height and load that you want with no blocks whatsoever, the rear end can articulate much better that way, unless of course you don't need that.
