Question Leveling Kit

Okay, first I am sorry if this is not the correct thread to post this question to. I don't really know that much about the generations.

We have a 2001 Dodge 24 valve cummins diesel 1 ton 4x4 extended cab.

My question is I want to buy my husband a leveling kit for it for Christmas and I am not smart when it comes to this kind of stuff. If I ask him he will know what I am up to. What is a good leveling kit to purchase, the little searching I have done there are like 3 or 4 different types you can get.

We do use the truck to haul a horse trailer and stuff alot if that makes a difference on the type of leveling kit I would need.

Can anyone please help me and give me a little advice?

Go to leveling kits, and then Dodge, and you should bee where you need to be.

Find what you need, and look at it.

You will have to get new shocks as well for the front if you raise it any.

How good are the Tuff Country 2" leveling kits?

Well, I appreciate ya'll helping me. When it comes to trucks I don't have a clue about anything. But that could have parts to do with the fact that I am blonde too.

So, if I get a leveling kit I will also have to buy him shocks?

Tuff country is fine. I prefer the air systems myself. But a lot more money too.

No, you don't have to buy new shocks. It might be a good idea , but you don't have to.

Tuff Country is a good choice I have a set of them and I tow quite a bit with no problems.

I bought mine from him.
I have the poly ones and they seem to be good, but I wish I would have went with the steel ones.

Cindy,
The generations of the trucks change with the body style. 89-93 = 1st gen, 94-02 = 2nd gen, 03 to present = 3rd gen.
