Let's Talk DV's

Ok, this stuff just gets more confusing to me since I've been away from 12v's for 4 years. I've seen on here in some searches that some people are running stock DV's and say that aftermarket ones produce more pressure but not volume. On my old '95 I had some 191's in it, and it made a big power gain and EGT gain, but some people won't run anything but stock. Whats the reasoning behind this? I'm just looking for as much fuel as I can squeeze out of a 175 to run twins. Just looking for clarification. Thanks

You want more fuel? Go with the bigger DV's, they flow more, period. You'll be missing out on a lot of HP if you stick with the stockers, they might just boost pressure with stock sticks, but throw on some 435's and go from stock DV's to Laser Cuts, and you'll EGT's way out of control on a turbo that could easily control the 435's. Twins will solve that if you get the right setup and tune it right.

I found that laser cuts on the smaller 160 and 175 pump work great...LC do run hot on 215 pumps, but again there is internal difference between the smaller(160,175) pumps and the 215....LC are cheap to buy and they work.

Thats what I thought. I had aftermarket DV's in my old '95 and they made a BIG fueling difference. Thanks

How about some more info on these things?
I am completely clueless to exactly what they do. I rarely hear about people using them, and when I do hear of someone using them they talk about how screaming hot their EGT's get.
Would love to get some feedback on people using them (especially on a 215 pump).
Thanks
Cory

A lot of people use aftermarket DV's. Look at where your injector lines come out of your pump. That little thing that the injector line screws onto is the delivery valve holder. Underneath that is the actual delivery valve that opens to let fuel to the injector. The higher flow delivery valve you have, the more fuel gets to the injector. I had some 191's on my '95 and it made a BIG power gain. But you'll need a turbo and clutch for sure. Great power gains though, IMO
