Come to find out the place I bought them forgot to tell me that you need a upgraded wiring harness, $70 later. But I would sure try these for that price.
thats right.....pull old ones out and put the new ones right back in. i am sure running a relay to them would help even more. i have thought about doing this myself but as good as these new bulbs are i may just leave it alone. i also rigged up some driving lights that run all the time on a relay. they are even on with the parking lights.

as for heat... i am sure they are a little hotter than stock. the threads i was searching in to find this stuff said that they didnt recommend running these bulbs if you had converted your truck to run the high and low beams at the same time because of heat.

Ha Ha , ya got an inch and 20 lbs on me , ya have to use one hand , unscrew the grey lock ring , and lift up on the blue split tab with yer thumb and pull the socket out ( gets easier the more ya do it) and then the only thing left is the bulb and just pull that out , ya have to be carefull putting the new bulb back in . And dont forget to slide the grey lock ring over the wires before plugging the plug back in , then lock the ring and yer done. One min tops once ya do it a couple of times. Infact its easier to do it by feel without looking , only have to look when putting new bulb in to scocket.

Ok im stumped, everyone says the stock lights on these trucks are horrible, but i just bought mine and it has great lights, way better then my t-bird or my old bronco. What does the HD harness look like, ide like to see if i have one. I run with the fog lights on most of the time but even with them off the lights are good and bright.

Unless you put it in yourself - you dont have a HD harness - its aftermarket.

The light on my 01 are acceptable after putting in better bulbs but on my 98 they were dangerous on the highway.

Its unlikely...check around and see if there are two relays attached to your factory light harness.

That is not correct. They are different but each sport headlight has a 9004 and a 9007 bulb. The 9007 bulbs tend to give off better/more light than the 9004's.

Last year I did find some 9004+50's at NAPA but have not seen them since. They are a 9004 plus 50 watts. Sounds like these bulbs may be a good candidate when I need some new. I also polished up the lens material to get rid of yellowing and haze. Put in the harness and they work pretty good.
