Just wasting my money?
I'm going to be buying a set of DDP Stage 4's this coming month, and obviously, need to do something with the turbo.
What's the reasonable HP limit for a 35/40 hybrid? (60mm wheel, 14cm housing)
I will be pulling my #10 plate back to control things, and a full exhaust is coming as well.
My towing isn't terribly heavy typically, around 6000-7000.
A bigger single isn't possible right now, and I'd like to possibly use this hybrid as a top for twins down the road....

I've been running a hybrid for a few years. EGT's used to be in check prior to me adding the 4gsk. Now I can make it hot if I really try. That's running empty - I have yet to tow with this set up. I did run with 1.2 tons of pellets in the bed one day and temps remained under 800. I ran up to 45 mph flat with a very steep long hill at 30 mph (I ran it in 2nd up the hill). I soon have to tow about 5k for a couple hundred miles so we'll see how it works. One other thing, a hybrid makes a great top turbo for a set of twins
I run a 35/40 with the 14cm wg housing and haven't had it on there too long, but as a general rule it stays plenty cool. My truck should be in the high 300's for hp, it will slip the sbc con o with a trailer if your not careful. A run from 60mph to 100+ it stays under 1300*. I've only had it on since Nov. and the truck has been parked since the snow started to fly for plowing, I wish I had more temp info for ya, but so far mine has worked really well. Tim.
vssman, good to hear, since we have the same pump... and the injectors I'm getting are certainly going to smoke less than the 370s... Where is your fuel plate? (forward, middle, back, etc?)
Tim - thanks for your input too.. I'm assuming stock injectors, but your plate is way forward?

Eskimo,
Ya my plate is full forward and my pump is the 215hp pump being it a manual plus I have a 3k gsk in my truck, need to update the sig., I have a picture of the plate in my gallary, I ground it out of the stock plate, combo of a #10 and #4 is what I was grinding for. Tim.

I.e. If I'm going through third trying to keep EGT's in check (because the plate is forward) and back off a little, it'll shift into O/D too soon.
Not an issue on a 5-speed, but proper plate placement is important on a auto.
