Err, the gain, if there is one, would probably be trivial at best. I can't imagine the tranny being built too much better? Engines are close to the same power levels, aren't they? Depending on the age of the trucks, they probably have lower power levels.

i wish mercedes would come out with a tranny for our diesels. heck they make them for the big rigs. mercedes and chrysler are combined so whats taking so long for a good tranny. that would blow the allison out of water.

allison isnt anything special..those duramazes have the 1000 series allison which maxed out at 590 lbs torque now it has to be beefed up like any other tranny not to mention how expensive the allison is or any mods to it are....i have no idea why dodge doesnt put a good tranny in i mean real good...all companies admit they wanna have our cummins in their truck so just hook up agood tranny!!.

dodge must get those tranny's real REAL cheap or else they wouldnt bother puttingthose in year after year

maybe ford and chev pay some money to dodge just to PLEASE not put iin a good tranny or else they would be out of business in the truck world

imagine also if dodge made 4500 and 5500 models not to mention ready made commercial trucks like ford does ...thats the only reason ford outsells cause their trucks are ready with dumps or whatever the purpose is and then they get huuuge long term multi trucl contracts with companies and tonships and thats whay they get sales....

letting out some steam
