Just added gauges
Just added Glowshift gauges to the old beast. Had a problem with the sender on the fuel gauge but Glowshift immediately sent another sender. Installed it and it seemed odd that there was no fuel pressure. Then the engine quit. Think I lost ANOTHER fuel pump! The fuel pump in the tank S*****. What to do? The last time I replace a fuel pump in a gasser was in 1957. The Cummins may be great but everthing around it is junk!!! I may be going back to a gasser!!!
There is no fuel pump in the tank on these trucks, only a sending unit and the pick up tube. the fuel pump is on the back end of the drivers side of the block. Look behind and down from the injection pump, you'll see what looks like an oil filter. This is actually your fuel filter, you can trace the lines back to find your lift pump from there.
And, IMO, gassers suck, real trucks dont have spark plugs!
Best of luck!

Mod moved the fuel pump to the tank
