Jacobs exhaust brake
Welcom to the DTR
I'm in know way a expert on Jakes or your truck (you need to fill in your sig so we know what you have) but if it has a stock auto in it it wont as the TC wont be staying locked. Does the engine have heavier exhaust springs Is the exhause brake even applying? Sometimes they can stick?

Thanks Keith G
Is the brake working?? Is the tc locked?
An ebrake only closes when you have your foot off the accelerator and will do nothing even if you are only pressing down slightly.
They do have a habit of carboning up and made need to be broken free.

My exhaust brake was not working and I found the microswitch that controls the brake was not making contact with the fuel lever when the lever was released. I just loosened the mounting bracket and mounted so it would activate when the lever was released. Later

Since you have a stock auto tranny ull need to put in some kind of mystery switch to use it. Also if Cummins had done the install, or Dodge for tht matter, they would have installed the hevier exh. valve springs Id imagine.
