On the second generation 24 valve, other than looks, an aftermarket intake manifold offers no benefit. I purchased a Banks and saw no difference in power (on the dyno), EGT, boost, or mileage. I have heard the same story from others using different brands of intakes. I have even seen a truck dyno over 600 horsepower with a stock intake. There are much better ways to spend your money. Jeff

thats what I thought. I mean it looks like its smoother design than stock and maybe have it powder coated or ceramic coated to reduce heat transfer

97 D-Tec your truck is a 12 valve. On a 24 valve a after market intake does nothing, but look pretty. Stock manifold good for over 600 HP.

That's a lot of money that could be better spent. Silver R/T welcome back! Fill in your signature and location so we know what your driving.
Start looking to do intake and exhaust upgrades. That's money well spent. Do you have a programmer or box? Gauges? Lets start with the basics to get better mileage and power.

the intake horn from s&b looks like it would be handy for gauges meth and what ever else you needed but not sure if hp and torque will change with any style.

You could tap stock intake yourself.
