Installing EGT probe. Anyone use a tread sealer with it?

I'll finally get to my EGT gauge installed this weekend. I will be drilling into the manifold, and was wondering if anyone has used some type of sealer on the probe treads...(autometer gauge) I will also use the drill & grease method, even maybe engine idle to keep the metal shaving out..thanks

I didnt, the instructions didnt call for it either. Dont have any leaks or problems, dont know how well teflon would hold up around 1100 degrees either.

Yup, anti-seize and nothing else. Never had a problem taking one out either.

I just did mine yesterday, and didn't think it would be a good idea for thread sealer. It's a pipe thread, so the hole actually ends up being tapered, resulting in a good seal.

I drilled and tapped mine with greased bits and with the engine idling. Wear safetly glasses and gloves (it gets a little warm, but not bad) and take your time. Piece of cake.
