I keep hearing about quicker spool up. My expirience with The HX35 12 cm is that is has no trouble with spooling or making boost in the lower rpm range. EGT's aren't a problem with it in lower rpms either if you have a good air cleaner and free flowing exhaust. So it looks like the TAG doesn't have anything to offer my truck.

So isn't this the oposite of what the TAG does since it is spraling instead of going straight?

Good question. I'd like to know too.
My friend says they both have positive effects depending on the application.
The folks with the spiral pipe said it was not full and still moved more. Very few abrupt curves. Once it was full it moved 55% more water then the straight pipe.

What I am thinking is perhaps the hose to the turbo causes turbulence that is greater then a straight feed and the TAG addresses that. On the second gens the turbo inlet hose is the same inner diameter yet it does a 180. There should be allowance on that curve for flow and there is not. On the 3rd gens we now have two opposite 90's and I think the baffle in the pipe from the factory is trying to do what the TAG does...just not as aggresively. A spiral is a controlled environment...a curved hose is not and the TAG helps that out...again just a guess.

Several folks have reported to me that the TAG has reduced the noise of the Scotty Air II and reduced EGT a bit. A surprising result...and a good one for folks.

I also have to add on edit...The hoses from the factory are not a smooth bore either. That in itself will cause all sorts of messed up flow.

Possibly. I try to gain a little of each with every passing day. For the record, it's i-n-t-e-l-l-i-g-e-n-c-e.

Also, e-x-p-e-r-i-e-n-c-e.

I notice that we agree on the issue being degrees. The TAG improvement is slight, and more of an enhancement than an improvement, if that makes sense.

It would be interesting to connect the manometers as you describe and observe the results.

I would also question why you assume that Rusty is the one with the problem. It's generally not wise to make offensive remarks and then tell people THEY are the ones with the problem.

If Rusty really believes that all the air is going to go to the outside corner of pipes then I would like to see him drill a 1/2" hole on the inside of his turbo outlet elbow - no air should escape there because it is on the inside corner right? "basic fluid dynamics"
He was being a bit of a smart *** with his "engineering degrees" and his "basic fluid dynamics" as if his points aren't arguable. If he wants to run home to momy 'cause he can't handle the internet than thats fine. At least he could defend himself though instead of letting his friends do it for him.

Seneca once said " many would atain to wisdom had they not thought they atained it already"

This thread has gone balistic. I never saw where Dave claimed big hp gains or any other big gains. For the little I spent with a 30 day money back guarantee didn't feel like it was a big risk.

Scotty we know your getting kick backs from old George.
