Installed Dyno-max system on my Ho.

I installed a full 4" system on my Ho 6 speed today. It only took about 2 1/2 hours to take the old off and new on. The tip looks great! The sound is,well fairly loud when your on it. I am very pleased on the ease of install. If i dont like the sound later on,i will buy a different muffler-maybe wider.Cant say for sure, but will drive it awhile to get used to it. I got the whole system from A-1 diesel for $407.00.

Can you bring it over so I can hear it?? That's about the best price I've seen so far. Did it include shipping?

Re:Installed Dyno-max system on my Ho.

How is the sound under normal driving conditions? I had a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler on my 98 and it was barely louder than the stock system. What a waste of $$$.

BTW I guess you thought I was kidding about driving it over so I could hear it................

Re:Installed Dyno-max system on my Ho.

i guess the grey in my hair and beard means it.my hotrods are loud, the harley is loud, but those are now and then toys.i drive this every day.today i went to a performance muffler shop that specializes in trucks.they installed a magnaflow muffler in place of the smaller dynomax and moved the smaller dynomax muffler up aways for somewhat of a resinater.now it gives the deep sound i wanted with the extra performance without rattling out my teeth when she lugs down.sorry to let you younger fellas down, but yes i am getting old!

Was it as loud as straight pipe?? I really want an exhaust and I want to hear it when I drive but I don't want it as loud as straight pipe..

Also, you mentioned "extra performance". Are you saying that you can feel a power difference with the new exhaust?

this system may be for you!its not as loud as straights, but it did have a deep loud tone when pulling or lugging.as far as the performance-i really just wanted to lower my egt, which now should be 125-200 degrees lower.

Re:Installed Dyno-max system on my Ho.

I run the 4" Dynomax on mine. I really like the deep tone. It is loud when I get on it or am towing, but not so bad that I can't hear my kids fighting.......

My one complaint is the resonance when I tow at about 2k RPMs. It's so bad sometimes that it's like sticking my ear in a megaphone with a tuba being blown on the other end.
I wonder it there is a sound block I can put over the muffler.

I paid in the $350 range for my muffler (Summit Racing) and then to have it installed.
