Installe my custom 100.1 plate and now.....

And now my valet switch does not seem to do much? Truck seems to still scream with the valet switch in the " slow " mode? What gives? I had a #8 plate and the valet switch help out a lot on towing and was nice around town. Now with the NASCAR 100.1 plate I made the truck just wants to race in valet mode or regular mode....

Dave..

Wheres your starwheel at if it is full forward then the valet switch wont work. Im going to turn my starwheel back to install a valet switch.

thanks

Thanks 74....... My star wheel is full forward. I thought it was the same with my #8 plate but maybe I moved with more forward with the 100 plate. Is there a common spot on 12 valves where the star wheel position will and will not allow the valet switch to work?

Thanks.....

Dave

The starwheel determins how much fuel to deliver depending on how much boost you have. The more boost the more fuel. If it is full forward then it will give full fuel at low or no boost. I would move it back till it is a little forward of the half way mark then try the valet switch then dial it in till it is where you like it.

Slide the AFC forward or back and/or use the smoke screw to get your Valet set up. Use the star wheel to controll the rate that the fuel comes on when boost is made. Two totaly different adjustments.

update.....

I just backed the AFC to the middle position and now the valet switch works. So let me ask this...... the more I back off the AFC the more power reduction I will get? I would like to just adjust the AFC when I am going to tow. And with normal driving I can leave it in the NHRA mode... And is the smoke adjustment on the front ( radiator side) of the AFC housing??

Thanks.....

Smoke screw is on the backside of the AFC. Take off that cover with 2 screws, and that will be your fine adjustment on the AFC.
