I'm still sitting on this TST #10 Kit...

Scared of installing it...

Are there any injectors I can buy that will give me a similar power boost instead of the plate?

Something like a 50-60 HP and 100-150 LB FT?

I can't afford a clutch right now, and I don't know what the definition of a "healthy clutch" is either...

I don't want to ruin my drivetrain...

Or am I just paranoid?

 

Well if your worried about your clutch either way with the plate or injectors, it still will strain a stock clutch depending on how wore it is

 

Your stock 215hp injectors will comfortably take you to 400+ hp so replacing them would be a complete waste of money IMO.
The #10 plate you have and a GSK kit should be your first mods and if you don't slide the plate to far forward you will have no problems.

 

I have been driving with a 100 plate just ahead of center of the pump for a year. I can slip it, but it holds fine if I drive nice. Hopefully I will get a clutch soon. Winter was pretty rough with work

 

U seem to be pretty worried about doing any power mods after reading the last couple threads u've made. Just hold off until u can buy a new clutch so u can have peace of mind. With that in mind, the 10 plate won't be to drastic of a change, u'll want more power after u put it in. I got my clutch from Valair for $225 shipped to my door, and it holds up great with my 100 plate almost full forward, afc full forward, and starwheel full forward, and 30psi boost. So ur 215 pump with a 10 plate will do just fine, and 225 for a new clutch isn't bad at all.

 

YOU WILL spli your clutch with either setups, guarantee, I just got out of same problem.

If I was you I would take pictures of your setup now (in case you need to get back stock), then slide stock plate full forward and your AFC too, turn starwheel forward also. You'll be surprised how much power you will gain.

Then when you'll have saved enough money for a new clutch+installation get injectors and #10 plate....and hang on, they are THAT bad

 

The 215 pumps must get quite a bit more aggressive with a 10 plate, than my pump with a 100 plate.

Digital bullet, The 3200 clutch from valair is rated at 450hp 900tq according to them, it's a great price and is working great for me. you definently don't need injectors, just do a plate, starwheel, and intake.

 

Just because you bump the "available" power of your truck does not mean you will toast your driveline.

I just put my #10 plate in... yes I can slip that clutch much easier than before... but that little variable called your right foot has much more to do with blowing up a driveline than the actual modifications themselves.

Heck if you go around WOT all day... you'll toast it regardless of your mods.

 

Go ahead and put the plate in. Just be sure to mark the position of the stock plate before you take it out. If you've got too much power for your stock clutch and driving habits, you can slide the 10 back a bit and save your clutch.
