injectors installed

Got my 120 hp injectors in yesturday. What a difference like driving a different truck. With the edge set at stock setting i can really tell the difference. turning it up all hell breaks lose. Thats what i call fun. It smokes more but living in the middle of nowhere dosent bother me. There is lots of diesel smoke anyway from all the farmers around here. Going to strap it to a dyno soon. will post numbers then. Took the old injectors apart to check them out they were toast.

Define "toast"?
How many miles on them?

There were 335.000 kms on the injectors. We pop tested all the old injectors and they were down the pop test to 2800 psi. the ends of the needle on the injectors were in bad shape. They did not have a good spray pattern on them. I got the injectors from Prince Albert diesel injection. they are a Bosch injector.

Wow!
That's a lot of KM's. Have heard of some factory injectors being weak at 1/2 that... or basically 100,000 miles (170,000 km).
Combination of new AND bigger must really make a nice difference!

Still the stock turbo on the truck. I will change the turbo when I get a set of head studs. The egt temps have been running fine. I was playing with it on wedsnday out on the highway. with egde set on 5 the highest temps i could get were 930 degrees.

Those numbers gotta be post turbo. No way that's correct.
Just stock injectors on 5 you should easily hit 1200*.

Good point here. If you have 120 HP sticks and an Edge you will be gettin Pretty Hot, especially with a stock turbo!

I will double check the numbers this weekend. When I hit 930 I did not hold it very long on the floor. I have hit 1100 will towing but i was towing in overdrive. My brother in law want to race my truck with his duramax this weekend. I will watch the egt temps to see what kind of numbers I get and let you know.

Gotta agree with the guys here. With the setup in my sig, I can easily hit 1650+ on a WOT pull. Better check it before you have to pick up pieces.

As mentioned above.... Is your EGT probe before or after the Turbo?
