Injectors

Getting ready to but injectors and I want to here opinions. Currently upgrading trans and want to ad a little more power than just the EZ and turbomaster I have currently installed. Not looking for a race truck. I tow 8000lbs trailer every week during race season and just looking for some more towing power.

Fill in your signature with the stats on your truck (year, model, mods, and type of trany). That way someone familiar with your truck will be able to help.

cudamanjr: Welcome to the board! I'd say that you should put up your signature.

I'd say that you should get some gauges right now. Boost, EGT and fuel pressure. Tranny temp wouldn't be bad either. Personally I'd go for a set of mild EDMs from DonM. I know that they are pricy, but IMHO you get a very nice combo of power, low EGT and low end grunt for the money.
Some upgrade to the fuel system would be in order too.
And IMO you should think about your statement of not wanting to have a race truck right now- admit it you are on the slippery slope that is called "just this mod and I'm done"

The injectors Alpine suggested are good ones but if that is too steep you can go with the RV-275 if you can find a good price on them. If the price difference is only $100.00 I would go with the EDMs Mach 1 or 1.5 . Any thing higher than that with your stock turbo while towing might get you into high EGTs (one reason you need gauges).
What kind of tranny upgrade are you doing?

If you are looking for converter check him out

Also any body looking for a new TC you need to call this guy. He is a former ATI converter employee as well as a 13 year diesel converter employee. He is just starting to get into the diesel market on his own now and he makes a awesome piece. It has a new cover and a new internal design that he is working on. I told him I would be posting this so he said give him a call. His name is Skip and he said if you mention this add he will knock off $200 bucks.

I heard the DD2's while great for racing were to smoky and hot for towing. Of course that is just hearsay. Piers has some good info on his site that can be used for planning. If you don’t want to have to upgrade your turbo you want to keep the heat down to what your turbo can handle.

I run DD2's. Had a stock air box and turbo, Edge Comp in EZ mode, and 4" turbo back exhaust and pulled 7000lbs. up a 6% grade for 8 miles at 60mph and never got above 1150 deg. They do smoke a little at low boost.

8 holes work great! We started using 8 holes in the Cummins engine last year with great success. This is after testing every possible combination of hole sizes and number of holes from 4 up to 21

85% of our customers have the 8 hole design. Unlike other EDM manufacturers we use a blank nozzle designed by us after extensive testing and CFD design. No Cheap Chinese or third world country parts or labor. We own the equipment that makes the holes and have the ability to make ANYTHING from little bity to big big big.

For a guy that tows, a Mach 1.5 ( 80 HP and nearly 200 ft lbs of TQ extra ) work great. The smoke levels are the lowest and the TQ level is the highest of any injector on the market.

Oh, I forgot, the stock nozzles from Bosch in the Dodge/Cummins are all 7 holes.

The RV275's included.
