Injector Install Quote...

From Cummins Central Power here in Sioux Falls was $250. Do you guys think this is too much? Decent? Or what? I called them because theres no diesel shops close to us, nearest is Rapid Diesel and thats on the other side of the state... so thats out of the question... atleast just for injectors.

What I'd really like to do is someone whos installed injectors before come help me do it. I'd love to learn how to do it myself, but if a guy takes his truck to a shop they're not going to be able to do that due to liability concerns and what not.

It's actually a pretty simple procedure I believe there is a thread on this if you just go and search "injector install"

Good luck

That might be a touch high, a shop might charge three hours which is O.K. I guess but it only takes two for someone that's done it before.

my last injector install clocked in right under 50 minutes. 250 is high for a very simple procedure.

I charged my last customer 250 bucks for a vp swap, and thats alot more involved

Hmm, I don't know what I'll do then... I tried searching injector install but various random threads came up along with threads that discussed installing them, but not in depth. I'll keep sifting through them.

I have a BD rad to install and have to get my stacks back on too... ugh so much to do with my truck lately.

Very easy procedure. I did mine in just under 2 hours. This included replacing the nozzles in my stock bodies.

Injectors are really straight forward. If it takes you 3hrs. to do, it's still worth the effort and learning experience.

Be methodical in your approach and everything will be fine.

Do it so the next time you want to change them, you won't be intimidated.

Just put a screw into the threaded hole in the top of the injector and pry out.

Take one of the shorter Intake Air Horn bolts, thread it into the injector and get under it with a pair of needle nose plyers and pry the tips on the edge of the rockers. They pop out nice and easy.
