Which injector?

I am looking between buying Mach 1.5 or the Mach2 for my truck. I have a stock turbo but I am looking to upgrade that next year. I will be using my truck to haul my 5th wheel through the Rockies this summer. Will Mach 2 cause my EGT to get too high? The guy at Wildcat Diesel suggested the 1.5 because of heat but I hate to buy the 1.5 now and get the 2 when I replace the turbo.

Thanks

-Pete

Yea, I no doubt will, I just like to average other peoples replies in my decision. Because of Rod's reputation what he says will carry more weight.

EDM 1.5's

I had an EZ and DD2's (w/ stock turbo) and had to back out of throttle due to high EGT's... and that was at 8800 lbs hauling at 650'. Towing 16,000 lb in the mountains would have to be a lot hotter! Always cutting back on the throttle is very frustrating, IMO.

The EDM 1.5's are no slouch. Think you will like them, especially coming from stock.

You WILL have high EGT's in the Rockies.
I was able to hit 1400* easy towing with a stock HO!

The Mach 2's should do well for you at home in So. Calif.

Since you're not going to upgrade the turbo until after your trip, I'd get the Mach 2's and just keep an eye on the EGT's in the mountains and back out of it when necessary.

So, basically if I get the Mach2 and until I upgrade my turbo I can either back off the throttle or downshift when the EFT gets too high. Or, if I go with the 1.5 since they don't dump as much fuel into my engine I won't be running as hot.
Also, it will only run hot when the RPM's are low and the load is high with the Mach2 and a larger turbo will add more air at a lower RPM?
I am starting to get this diesel stuff Money=Power

Almost correct... If you have too much fuel for your set up (turbo) you'll be hot anytime you punch it.

Your last line got me thinking...did the math... came out in the neighborhood of $50.00 per HP added. Ouch!

All things are relative, I guess. I have a friend who works on Alan Johnson's crew (NHRA - Pro Stock)... he told me Alan pays about $1,000 @ HP, when he can find it! Difference = He has sponsors.

Running my 2.2 edm's truck got hot towing with a 35 40 hybrid and a piers hx 40 .It just depends on your driving style but unless you are ready to dump some cash on a B-1 (that i would highly recommend with mach2's or higher) i would stay with the 1.5's. Just my .02.

Thanks for the input. I ended up taking Rod's advise and just bought the 1.5 injectors. There is a 6-8 week delay to getting them though. I might not have them in time for my vacation.
I also get the fuel kit too. I really like talking to Rod. Seems like a really nice guy. I hope to give him some more money in the future.

I will do anything I can to keep you from having to wait that long!

I can make certain you get them before your vacation, unless it starts tomorrow
