Increase boost/responsivness

99 3500 with Edge EZ. Standard injectors.
I clamped the vacuum line for the waste gate.
It increased my boost and I feel that the truck is a little more responsive.
My max boost is ~27psi but I have not pushed it on the highway or towing.

My question for the experts..... Will I damage anything with this "MOD". I like experimenting but would rather not screw anything up.
It is a simple fix to undo.

Is that pretty much like bolting on a J hook?

That shouldn't affect responsiveness unless that line was leaking originally. It won't hurt anything unless you are running way outside the compressor map where things burst. At 27psi, that is not a concern.

I agree that you probably won't hurt anything, but keep in mind the wastegate is an engine/turbo protection device and at anything below 35psi you will gain NO more power over a boost elbow or rotating the actuator (two bolts on back and spin housing) but these mods leave the turbo overspeed protection in place.

Once you reach 35 psi (like after you get your sticks) choke point can make egt's SKYROCKET where the backpressure would have been let past the wastegate were it functioning.

BTW I did sticks first then the EZ, and the EZ was just enough to wrinkle the clutch disc making it drag. I replaced it with a Valiar, but just a note: The OE pressure plate held the power, and had within a couple hundred pounds of the clamping force. So all I REALLY needed was a better disc. But if you go to 100hp you'll probably have the same problem. This is assuming you have the big shaft and 13" clutch.
