Im king of the VP killers
Had a Bosch reman that lasted 3k miles.Todays kill was a HRVP44 with less than 1k miles.Wire taps on both but I run in EZ because I dont want the stock turbo to sling apart.Im thinking of dropping a 12 valve in my truck.

What do you do to them? Do you have a LP?
Sorry to hear about your troubles... Does a wire tap kill the warranty on the SHOVP-44? Hope you get some sort of solution figured out, that could get expensive.

I agree with the P-pump idea, it would be a lot cheaper than the 12v plus it would have a couple of benefits. You would get the almost bullet proof pump witch can flow a ton of fuel and you'll have the more free flowing 24v head.

Ive seen 200k mile stockers sling apart with less mods than I have.
I already have a wrecked 97 3500 12v truck with 95k miles so itd be the cheapest for me just to swap engines.
Im not racing people or anything.400 miles on this pump were from pulling my race car.Im not having electrical failures on either of my replacment pumps either,ts internal.I bought a hrvp44 because they will warranty with a wire tap but its a limited warranty and only for the mechanical side(they did say if I fried the elec on it theyd replace for a cost instead having to pay for a new pump)So far ive been extremely happy with the pump and ive noticed fuel mileage actuall went up about 1 mpg...doesnt say much for the miles but its what ive observed.
Hopefully the company will get me taken care of.I told the cs rep to pull my reman pump and tear it down so we could see what happened with it...I think im gonna call back in the am and have them just charge me for a new pump and when they get the old one credit it.I need my truck.
And I run a FASS 150 with -6 lines and the Baldwin bt372-mpg.Fuel pressure is 15 wot with 19-20 idle.

Sorry to hear about your loss
When my second one went I bailed out of my 24v and bought my 12v and have slept better every since. If I had a wrecked doner I would just do the swap but in ower parts not to many wrecked Cummins to pick from.

I'm just curious? What brand pumps are you having problems with? Who's rebuilds are they?

if youve got a wrecked truck you've got all the parts to do the 24v conversion. (the pump/gear front cover) all youd be out is a set of injection pump lines

Itd still be cheaper, easier, and less time consuming to swap the entire 12 valve.I could do that, sell all my hot rod 24 valve parts and my 24 valve engine, and probably pick up a nice set of twins and pocket a few thousand dollars and be rid of this POS VP44 forever.
The main thing I like about 24v's is you can tun them down on the fly,I know you cant do that with a 12v.
