i second that... ive bought alot used parts...and i still have about $15-20k in various parts on my truck. or course it doesnt help buying a van aaken, then comp, upgrading to drag comp, then a TST and smarty, or buying DD 100hp injectors, then DDP 150's, or an hx55, then a B1 etc etc.

should buy things once instead of 2-3 times.

I never said cheap - I said easy.

stock head
stock head bolts
stock gasket
stock cam
stock VP

Used puck $200
Used FMS $425
Used injectors $500
Used turbo $1000
Home made Downpipe and exhaust $100
Intake BHAF $35

I turn my own wrenches, so you have to add for that if you don't work on your truck.

be honest...how long do you think it will last like that. like i said 500hp can be put to the ground, but to do it right it takes ALOT more.

i drive my 500hp truck ***** to the wall everyday. only thing i have to do is wait til its up to operating temp before going over 20psi, just to be safe. i take it out on nights when its 28-30 degrees, good cold dense air and can rip on it with 45-50psi and i KNOW my hg isnt going anywhere, too many people dont take these precautions like i did before...and they pay for it

anyways, you have 640 to the ground now...is that with all that stock stuff you listed?

His has 325,000 miles like that and mine has 200,000 with my set-up which is the same as far as headgasket and such. Mine has just recently started leaking oil out of the front of the headgasket. Both of our trucks are used hard and often.

I'm wastegated at 42 pounds. I made the same hp at 42 psi as 50 psi so i didn't see any need to push it. The HTT wastegate holds it very good.

And I have always stayed out of the pedal until the coolant was in the operating range.

yea i made my numbers in my sig at about 42psi as well. i have the B1, with the colder weather now i can get it to 45psi even with the wastegate hooked up... pull the hose off and it will peg my 60psi gauge...but doesnt seem to make any more power. i wanna sell this B1 for something bigger tho. im looking at either a PS66 or silver bullet and some mach 6's to get it closer to 600hp

Mine is about 43PSI and makes good HP higher isnt always better, but I do know on my first dyno run I made 32PSI and we had to load the Dyno to get the 43PSI I needed, I dont want to push the Headgasket either.

I am just curious what setting on the smarty stacked with the edge or the tst you all are making over 500 HP? The reason I am asking is when I dynoed with the smarty on #8 and the edge drag my numbers did not come over 500 till I removed the smarty.

i made 500.52 hp with smarty on #9 and TST on 9. most guys make more power with the TST down at like 6 or 7. i made 498 on 7 with smarty on 9.

i wanna get on a dyno again soon, and try smarty #3 with TST on various levels. i think i will be able to get about 520-530 out of it that way.

You think you will get more with the smarty on a lower level? Is that just with the TST or the Comp as well?

TST competition...no edge comp

and yes many guys report higher numbers with the smarty down or off. i wanna try it on level 3. i run level 3 on the street with the TST off most of them time unless i wanna play with some imports. i prefer not having the short pedal of the smarty tho. i like the full range of the throttle.

Have you tried bolting the 55 back up now that you're pushing more fuel? Curious how it did, if so...
