I need a turbo, specific needs

I have 130hp injectors with the adrenaline and a BHAF and 5" stacks. I am a daily driver , i drive about 80miles a day . I tow about 3 times a month from 3k to 19k lbs. I race about 1 time a month. I need something to help my fuel economy because i smoke all the time with this setup along with screaming high egts even with the stock turbo set up at 35psi. i can easily hit 1600egts so i have to be careful. I want to get better injectors later because these are the bullydog bullyboosters. I hear that the mach f'1's are much better about smoke control. I like smoke but not when it downs my fuel economy by 4-6mpg. A guy from HTT told me i need a 62 or 64 with the 13. im not to sure what that means other than the 64 and 66 are slower to spool up alothough they support high hp. I want HP but i dont want all the wasted smoke.

Do you have any boost leaks? Check, I like the garrett 3788-3R, lots of turbo and will out spool/flow just about anybody turbo for the same money. Its rated at 450 rwhp but people have pushed it to over 500rwhp. It will light fast and stay cool. I have a 3782-2R, its works sweet as well, but I'm running it in twins so, my egt's aren't an issue. I know a few guys running stock turbo with those same sticks. Its hot, but not 1600 deg's. What kinda of elevation you at? If your below 4000 ft, start looking for boost leaks.

The slow spool is usually related to a larger Exhaust housing. Your stock Exhaust housing is a 12cm and the 62/71/13 is 13cm so it should spool fine especially with a set of injectors which you already have. But with the 71mm Exducer it will flow enough exhaust to keep egt's down and the 62mm inducer will flow more air keeping power UP!

im wanting to achieve though about 550+ hp and be able to daily drive it... just need something i can spool alright with and not create a smoke cloud everytime the light turns green. i wish i could reach the 800 mark with some mach 8's and a 66 silver bullet and still be driveable....

You will never see 800 with a 2nd gen and daily drive. If you want to use 550 to tow, you will need a great set of twin turbos. If you want to hit 550 on the dyno and use 500-550 at the race track and 450 to tow, a 62/71/13or14cm will work great.

If you want 800 on the street, you will need twin turbos and a 3rd gen.

I want the same thing, but I'm not there and probably never will be. The real world just changes things.

BB24 posted well, imo. You'll never be able to use ALL 550hp while towing, even with EGTs in check because your radiator simply cannot dump that much waste heat. It was designed to cool no more than 245hp under all conditions--- and towing with over double that power output is well past any margin built in.

The truth is that you'll probably never hook to anything big enough to require 550hp to keep at hwy speeds. That's Class 8 truck power levels with weight pushing 80K.

For more realistic to tow around 400hp (with your boxes off) and then have up to ~550hp available at light loads.

That's still a tall order. It's been done, though-- I think even with a single turbo.

I think sacrificing a little response with a larger housing (like a 14cm or 16cm if you can get that) might pay dividend with EGT control while towing.

Heck I haven't broke the 500 rwhp barrier in sometime. I just finished driving my truck for 5 hours today. What a treat it was, the new twins worked pretty nice, the wastegate is sluggish, but works. The S300 is an over rated turbo, its slightly better than the HX-40 or HX-35. The garrett is the choice, I can't believe how smooth the boost is. I can just haze some at intial spool-up and wot is clean. 5X5, its abit hazey but its 5X5, with mach 6's at 3500 ft. I can't wait to drive this set-up at sea level. Its about the same money but so much more turbo. I heard that a turbo mag pushed the 3788-3R to 500 plus hp, on a single. I'll almost bet the 3788-3, will out perform the BD towing twins. I know my set-up is darn close and I dragging a 3B along until the wastegate lites. The garrett/BTH-3B combo is pretty sweet, I just hope that the transmission holds up
