i need some coaching on a FASS installation...
I have a friend who's parting out his truck. It has the FASS HPFP pump. It does not have the filter/separator. It has the blue fuel line which I think is the 3/8", and the wiring harness including the fuse and relay.
I don't have the set-up yet, just wondering how it is mounted and in what position?
The online manual makes note of a small "hole in the base directly next to the electric motor" which "must aim directly to the ground." The photo in the manual is not clear. Does someone have a location of a better picture of exactly how to mount the pump?
i currently have a stock LP mounted back on the frame. I got the big line kit from Geno's. I have 3/8" fuel line to the stock filter, and to the IP. It included the wiring, but it did not, to my recollection, have a relay, or fuse and was not connected directly to the battery. I also cut the steel fuel line just in front of the fuel tank, installed a ball valve, then goes to the pump. I clamped the 3/8" blue line I got from Geno's onto the steel.
Question--would the FASS work fine if I attached it just where the existing stock pump is located and simply used the FASS wiring to replace the Geno's wiring?
Is there great benefit in removing the factory steel line from the tank to where i have the ball valve (about 30-36")? Friends pump does have the quick connect that goes on the tank, then a clamp on NAPA filter, then the pump.
Any advise appreciated.

I mounted mine on one of the bed rails under the bed, behind the drivers side. I had to get two 90 fitting s but other than that it was simple. I removed the stock fuel lines and lift pump and threw them in the trash. I ran a big line kit all the way up from my Fass pump to the fuel filter. I would stick with the FASS wiring but thats just me. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I am going to use the FASS wiring harness because it has a fuse and relay built into it.
Did you mount your pump so it is horizontal to the ground or is it mounted vertical?
I'm not clear on the hole they keep mentioning that has to be aimed directly down. It that a drain? Is the hole located in the aluminum body of the pump? Is there also an allen head adjustment for pressure?
