Beware of the clutch if you are adding 275's...... Some will tell you their clutch holds with no problem. I found out differently when I added 275's to my EZ....

I bought my 275's off of e-bay for $250, installed myself in two hours. Would have been quicker but a friend called to see how it was going.
The truck idles smoother, and is quieter than stock and has even more power. The only time I see smoke is if I jump on it at a stop sign. If I just lean into it, it will push you right back into your seat. I personally love it when you are going down the interstate around 70 mph and you want to pass someone, it just rolls without effort.
The only question I'm working on now is why I can only get 27 lbs of boost. I've tighten down the turbo master beyond the recommended dimension that they said I would get 34 to 35 lbs. But nothing more. I think once I hook the trailer up it might go up more.

Have you checked all the boost clamps to make sure they're tight? Did you take your airhorn off to install the injectors? Sometimes those gaskets leak and sometiems the plate it gets screwed down into warps and causes a boost leak.

Try locking off the wastegate completely and see what you get.

I did have to replace one gasket under the grid heater. The gasket between the air horn and grid heater looked fine. I tightened up air horn to 18 ft/lbs. and then went around and tightened up all of the boost clamps. I'll try locking up the wastegate.
Is there anyway of detecting a boost leak?

You can pressurize the system with compressed air through a home made clamp/adapter over the turbo inlet, run the pressure up to 30 and listen.

I've also seen 275 injectors on ebay for $275-300.
For 500 I could get 1.5 EDM's. Would these destroy
my clutch. Because after the injectors I won't have
any money to put into the truck for awhile. It wouldn't
be much fun to have the extra power but have my
clutch slipping all the time.

I have Mach 1.5's in my truck as well as an edge ez (auto in my case) and haven't had any transmission problems yet. If you can get Mach 1.5's at that price, I would recommend doing so as they are great injectors. Worse case scenario, just take it easy on the go pedal until your funds allow for a clutch,

mishkaya,
What type of mods are you running with your auto? I thought about EDM's 1.5 with my EZ, but I didn't want to change the turbo right now (HY35/9).

I don't have it in my signature, but it's on my user cp. I have intake, exhaust, edge EZ, Mach 1.5's and Airdog currently. I don't tow too heavy right now so haven't had a transmission problem yet, however I have an appointment with Dave Goerend next week (can't wait) to get my tranny rebuilt. At which point I will be installing an Edge Comp and this summer a different turbo (even though I haven't decided which one yet)

Charlie 8301,
Do you have any EGT problems? And what about smoke?

I have a turnbuckle on the stock turbo and make about 32-34 psi. EGT's are very controllable but can get out of hand if you don’t watch the gauge. I still have my ez set to the high setting and can get it to smoke if I want to, but it to is very controllable.
