I got codes for breakfast!!!!!

Ok so I went out to the truck this morning and to my surprise.....CODES.. For my enjoyment we got P1693 and PO117. What are they and is it anything bad and how do I fix it. Thanks

P0117 Generic Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Low Input
1693 -means there are other codes, in the ecm that you need a reader to get to. I'd buy a reader from autozone or wally world. Great investment...

It should.

I pulled 5 out of mine when I got it home, P0230, P0215, P0387, P1689, P0602 (this one is SMARTY related). I had to bring mine home on a trailer.

I think thats what he's doing, I know on mine yesterday morning I only had the P1693 code, I had to use my smarty to get the other codes out.

Unfortunately I looks like the tone ring on mine blew up.

P1693 is a companion code. It means there is a code stored in the opposite either ECM, or PCM.

I went down to autozone and got a reader and those were the only codes so I erased them and they have yet to come back

I'd say your toatally fine. Probly just a sensor on the fritz or something.
