hy35 enough or do I upgrade?

My 01 has the hy35 like most autos that year. Ive got the wastgate turnbuckled of j hooked however u look at it and I'm running 25 pounds of boost. I've got my box, bigger sticks, fuel kit and tranny built. The last thing im thinking about doing is a turbo upgrade. Do i stick with the one i have or is it worth getting like a hx35? I like the faster spooling of the hy but the lower egts would be nice. Its a daily driver. I don't pull very often. It's my around town ego enhancer. What should I do? thanks in advance

With whats in your sig ou need a larger turbo than any of the 35 series.... Look into a 62mm turbo for fast spoolup and egt control.

I can't see how you could even actually use all the fuel you are currently making, with that tiny turbo. I have just the Hot Juice and can get hot so quick it's not even funny. You need a 62/14.

With all the smoke she pours out I think I know where all the fuel is going I got a good offer on a pdr35. Its a 12cm 58mm I'm told. I found some info saying above 400 hp it would be overmatched. Is that true or would it work ok. I don't know how much hp i'm pushing but I was thinking more along the lines of 450hp. I don't want to spend $1500 if I can help It. I would like the pdr35 if it can handle it.

I'd say you'll need something larger. Or at the minimum a 14cm housing, but it's still gonna get HOT.

Cant change the housings on the Hy turbos. Anyways, that is quite a bit of fuel for that turbo. Ive had nothing but good things to say about my sps62

The H-Charger 60/12cm non wastegated from HTT looks like something that would spool almost as good as the hy35 yet is rated 315-415hp. I heard the sps62 has lag compared to the hy35 but will cool great later in rpm range. I also do not want to forfiet the hy spool up. My goal is 350rwhp. Does anyone have experience with the htt 60/12, thanks

The H-Charger is just HTT's name for a hybrid HX35/40. I got the HTT compressor upgrade to make mine a 60/18, and I can still get the EGT's to around 1300. I wouldn't recommend a non-wastegated 12cm.

A hybrid won't be enough for Dodgin&Rammin either with his mods.

yeah, but I would imagine you are hitting 1350* in a matter of seconds. An HY can't hold any kind of decent power cool, infact it even struggles with a simple 65HP Edge EZ, and you are pushing 250ish(?) HP over stock.

If you are really making 450HP, pony up for a Phat Shaft 62/14, or at least a BD Super B. A 35 series is just not going to be happy with that much fuel. You'll be going with a Custom turbo sooner or later at that power.

Thanks for the info. I'll start looking into a 62 14. My egts jump up real quick with the little hy. I've got to upgrade.

I found a hx40w and a borg warner s300g for around $500-$600. Are either of these a good turbo?

Thanks

Most people are going to reccomend to stay away from the HX-40 but the s300 is what most of the single upgrade turbos are based on.

With my mods, I'm hitting 30-32psi. How are you only hitting 25? Might check for a boost leak. My EGT's only hit 1100 WOT.
