Question HTT Turbo Bark???

I was wondering if anyone had way more bark with their aftermarket turbo than a factory turbo? This 62/13 SS barks quite a bit shifting between gears!!! It drops boost fast unlike my HX35 with the TST boost elbow. Can a guy put in the boost elbow in to slow down the boost drop between shifts? Thanks...

I would try to stay away from barking it through the shifts.
I take you are staying on the throttle while changing gears hence the bark.

The HX35 didnt bark because it wasnt making enough air too bark your new turbo is making plenty of air and when you unload it there is no where for the charge air to go.

The rapid loading and unloading of a turbo will take a toll on it over time and cause wheel and shaft fatigue along with possible other issues.

Drive around the surge. With aftermarket chargers sometimes you have to drive in their "sweet spot".

It's an excellent turbo. It sounds so good, cools very, very well. With the TST Comp on 9, Smarty 9 and my 80 HP injectors at WOT i hit 1450 on a full run. Before with the HX35, I could see 1500 with just the Smarty #9 and injectors, no TST!!! Very easy to install amd looks great too. I will post some pictures as soon as I get my Post EGT probe in. I'm waiting on a fitting so I can run my 2nd probe. The price was excellent also. I did notice a small amount of side to side play in the wheel though? I don't know if this is normal or not but there are no scratches like my HX35 had, that's was the reason for the upgrade. I'm very happy with my choice as the 64/13 SS would have been wayyy to laggy.

Keep on the throttle a little bit between shifts.

wouldn't not coming completly off the throttle lessen the bark?

Me coming off the throttle between shift's seems to cause it. I haven't tried to keep on the throttle between shift's. I'll try it out tomorrow...

I found that if I trimmed the boost down below 42psi, I got less bark between gears. I don't have the fueling you have, but if I can get the wastegate to crack before I shift, it doesn't bark. If I have it pinched up to 45psi, it barks pretty much on every higher gear, 3,4,5. Towing is another story. If I am in 5th, full boost on a hill and have to pull out at all, it barks, not hard but still barks.

Thanks Dog, I'll try to back down the boost tomorrow and see if that does the trick... I was just wondering why HTT doesn't run a boost elbow like II? Can a guy try to run one and will it work so the boost doesn't fall out so fast?
