htb2 64/14 and new era 370's installed!!

I got my htt 64/65/14 installed and then a few days later the new era 370's. The injectors went easy, the turbo took a little more work. Because it was going in my first gen i had to dent the floorboard to clear the 4inch downpipe. I could have just cut the downpipe but i didn't have to dent it too much. I had to massage the turbo oil drain tube as well. Anyways, it pulls hard, runs well. The spool-up kind of surprised me, it does well IMHO. Egt's at 60mph are about 800 now compared to about 650 before. I can peg my egt gauge still but by that time i'm goin 90mph(4.10 gears) so i'm pullin out anyways. Oh i installed a 3kgsk as well. What a difference that was. It only puts out around 35psi of boost currently. Possibly a boost leak? or is that about right? Very smooth boost buildup. I know a few people were wondering about this turbo so if you want me to test it somehow i can do my best to give you information on it. I am currently satisfied with it. Next is studs and timing. What kind of timing can i get away with just putting studs in with the stock gasket? How much h.p. can i expect out of timing and drop in egts?

How much difference in power did the New Era 370's make? I have some im gonna put in mine one of these days You definately should be making more boost. Does it have an adjustable elbow on it? I make 40psi with the stocker, and stock injectors. Timing brought my truck down a couple hundred degrees, but probably didnt really add any more power. It will run better up top though for sure. The EGT drop is well worth it. I wouldnt go over 17 or 18*.

Boost

When I got mine, the first couple of weeks it would pull about 35 lbs of boost with everything I have now, Then after that it will slam 50+ with ease. Not sure if it needed to break in or I just learned how to drive with it. All in all I Like the turbo, Some studs are in my near future.

Thanks for the report.

I think the timing will help. Even on my 24v adding timing drops cruise egts by 50.

Well i looked over all my connections briefly this morning in the shop and didn't find much but a loose bolt on my intake manifold. I tightened it up but 36psi is still my max at WOT. I suppose maybe it could just need to broke in as well. Is yours a 65 or 71 turbine wheel jester? I'll probably order a new intake gasket and throw that in since it's a cheap thing to check. I need to pressure check the system soon. I think i probably have a leak as i could only get about 35 out of my hx35 previously.
