Laser Cut's vs New Era 370's in my truck
Just what the question asks. For my truck, what is going to be the best for power, EGT's, mileage, and id like for it to come close to clearing up the smoke. I know Laser Cuts will smoke like crazy, and make some power, but I also know they will smoke like crazy, and EGT's will be through the rood with a hx35.
370's to me seem to clean up much better under load, from what I have seen, they should easily make as much power as laser cuts, and I feel like EGT's wont be as bad as with laser cuts. I will be the owner of some new era 370's really soon regardless, just curious on what you guys would do? The new era's are supposed to have the correct spray pattern for our engines. I really would like to not compromise my mileage though as long as I can keep my foot out of it. I understand running it hard can make mileage horrible, but driving it easy, will the 370's get as good of mileage as the 215's I have in right now? I dont mind to run the plate back some with laser cuts If I can make it mostly clear the smoke and run as good as having the 370's. I dont know. I guess im just torn, so what do you guys think?
I think ill be running at least mid 14's either way

Dude, quit buying fuel and get a charger
That being said...when I had 370's in the 95 I lost about 3mpg towing, light or heavy
With the Laser Cuts and factory sticks, it smoked more, but the mileage drop wasn't as bad. On the smoke thing, it made more power with the laser cuts and stock sticks than with 181's and 370's.
YOU NEED AIR FIRST
Chris

Well, im not exactly "buying" the fuel
Doing a little work for it. Which combo had worse EGT's, and what were the difference in the #'s Chris? Where you running a different turbo at the time? Also, how much more smoke did the L/C combo make than with the 370's? I have to run it pretty hard to get it hot right now, so I feel like I can easily add some more fuel for now. I still think id like to try and make some pretty good #'s on a stock turbo
Mainly because Id like to pull some, and I would like to run a stock turbo class. What about laser cuts and a hybrid? Surely I could make some pretty good numbers with that combo, and keep the temps in check even if I had to back the plate off a little... Also, will the 370's bring cruising EGT's up? Which combo did you like towing with better Chris, because I haul some too. Sorry for all the questions man
Thanks for any answers though

Never ran the 370's with Laser Cuts. Didn't have enough air for Laser Cuts and stock sticks
Ran them with my HX40/B2 combo, but had to limit boost to 60psi...no studs or o-rings
EGT's only go up when you're on the pedal! Smoke would clear in valet mode at 330hp, but never even began to clear with full fuel. With more timing, and enough boost I think it would have made 450hp fairly easily!
I could tow easy with twins. I would hate to add any more fuel without more air. Heck, my stocker's maxed out right mow, with only a #10 plate and 022's!

You just ran the regular 370 marine injectors, right Chris? The ones im getting are New Era's, and seem to be a smooth running injector, and are modified for the correct spray pattern for our motors. I may end up trying them, and if I dont like em, Ill take them out, and put laser cuts in
Anyone else have any opinions on the matter? How much HP could I expect to gain from either the 370's, or DV's by themselves? Thanks again guys.

370's typically are about 90hp if you have the supporting mods to handle them...DV's, I've heard anywhere from 95-130hp, more with injectors.
With the air you have though, I'd expect 60hp for sticks, and about the same maybe a bit more with LC's...since you already have 215's that might make a difference.
Personally, you need to try some 022's with your 215's and see what that does...the 022's should get you another 35-45 with the 215's over 181's, IMHO!
Not too much, but not too little!
Why don't you want more charger?? You can go bigger and still stay in the stock charger class, right. I thought they went by wheel sizes anyway?

i suppose living at a higher elevation (less boost) where i live, its harder to blow turbos, UNLESS with a plugged w/g that makes lots of blown turbos over here alos, so i never plug em anymore!
as for DV's they are crazy fuel. at 6600 feet elevation, stock charger, they actually hurt my power at WOT!!!! its a bit faster not laying into the pedal all the way! thats with a 215 pump and 100 plate and the dv's!
i need to find out mpg, once its not as much fun anymore to smoke out the highway with only 1/2 throttle! and to spin the tires in 3rd with less then 1/2 throttle
