How will injectors affect mileage?

What is the trade off in going with higher hp aftermarket injectors? Given the same driving habits before and after do they cause a big drop in mileage? And if so, what would be a good compromise to get some more power without killing your mileage? Stage II's?

when I put my bigger injectors and cam plate in My mpg went up 2-3. I was very happy. If you push it all the time it will go down and down and maybe evern down again. well you get the idea.<br>DM01

My computer thinks I picked up 2 mpg but I actually lost about .5 mpg with rv275's and same driving habits. It's worth it though to have the reserve power when you need it.

Re:How will injectors affect mileage?

With my manual tranny, RV275's seemed to have added about 0.5 mpg, but my driving style is very, very mpg friendly. If your style is &quot;normal&quot; or &quot;aggressive&quot; you might loose a little because of the power increase. I notice jec3 (who lost 0.5mpg) has an auto and hauls horses. Towing would probably create more situations where he really needs and is using that extra power.

I've received several e-mails from folks with DDII's, or DDIII's, who have also used RV275's in the past. In most cases, they reported that the RV275's didn't give the same power, but were the only injector that improved their mpg. Choose your medicine, do you want power or mpg?
