Talking How to tell if your truck is overloaded...

If you have to stop and remove your u-joint sheilds in the Home Depot parking lot because the DS yoke is rubbing it, then i think 3200lbs of concrete is a bit much

Naw, you aren't overloaded, you just have weak springs. I carry 5K in my 3500 90% of the time. It does break air bag brackets every 50,000 or so.

He probably has a regular duty 2500, mine has the camper prep package so it comes with the overloads and sway bar.

are you sure you had the weight right? 3200 lbs should have barely squatted your truck.

My rig sets on the stop blocks around 7,000-8,000 lbs....

40 bags of concrete at 80lbs each, it was only halfway to the blocks but it squatted pretty bad, its a 2500, no overloads, no sway bar etc. and the entire 3200 was centered in a 4'x4' area in the center of the bed, not spread out over the entire bed like gravel would be.

i actually enjoyed the smooth ride for the 2 days the weight was on there!

If the u-joints shields are rubbing with that weight in the back, then they probably rub when you're hooked to the sled, don't they? Seems that the back would squat farther with a sled than 3200 in the bed.

With 3000 pounds of concrete paving stones in the bed, the truck is level. I did air up my tires to 125 psi and it rode like a limousine.

TotallyRad that is flippin' funny! lol, I need a set of overloads, with my Grizzly in the back it sits about 1" away from being level. I feel like a 1/2 ton sometimes!

I had 80 sheets of 7/16 osb plywood in the back of my mine this spring, the truck was still 2' from the rubber stops. Rode real nice then. It has overloads on though.

I just put 2 tons of dirt in the back last weekend and it only sat about an 1.5-2" lower. I also have the tow package with the overloads. I think the overload springs are the ticket when hauling heavy.
It did ride nice though.
