How much will it take???
I have a 01 with a auto trany. Tranny is stock with a DTT VB i was wanting to know how much power it would hold before it will crap out? With just DTT VB,Goerend 3d TC,and billit input ? Truck has 51k on it and i put the VB at 24k.
I've read that 450 HP can be handled with just the upgrades you mentioned if the tranny was pretty fresh when you added the VB and Torque Converter.
If you drag race much, the stock output will become iffy when you use a lockup switch in 2nd gear, keep it locked during shifts, or launching with sticky tires and 20+psi boost.
If you check out Goerend's site, they also recommend a few more parts like apply lever for a hundred bucks or so.

There is no definitive answer to your question.
I have seen true 450hp trucks blow up full billet trannies with the right attitude.
What you break is really up to you and how you use it.

What kinda condition is the transmission in prior to the valve body and new TC? Have you done the pressure checks on the pressure ports? If your clutchs are smoked, chances are it wont take the beating. My history is that the stock transmission wont last long even with all of the goodies. If you take care it might last with 450rwhp, the real factor is how much torque is it gonna take. Stock tranny is rated around 800 ft*lbs, a valve body increases line pressure but you might be for 900 to 1000 ft*lbs. A worked tranny have more clutches to give you more holding force. The holding bands are set-up differently to hold tighter and with more force (4.6 ratio lever). Is there any pressure leakage in the valve body? The pressure checks are the best way to make the call and regular servicing is the best way to make it last.
I put the vb in when the truck had 21k on it. It now has 53k i had a comp on it for maybe 5k before the vb. I don't have the TC yet and i haven't done any pressure checks on it yet. I'm trying to make up my mind on what to do. Don't know if i should just do TCand input and drive it till it goes or build the one i have now or buy a full billit HTS tranny. I want to put twins on my truck down the road. I would like to see somewhere between 575 and 625hp out of it. I have not sled pulled or went to the track but i would like to a few times a year. I mostly just use it for towing, work and play toy with some street racing. But i know once the bug bites i won't be able to stop. So
