30 secs is way to long. I like to keep it to around 10 secs which is long enough for me to go from 70 to about 105mph or from a standing stop I can manage about 70 or 80 I believe. Those are round about figures.

I wish I knew how hot mine got cause my gauge stops at 1500* but at the end of the 1/4 mile it took a good second or two to come off of that peg.

One thing you gotta remember is that 1500* at 350hp isn't as rough as 1500* at 500hp.

Dunno. Could be today could be 10 years from now. Mine sees 1500* on a daily basis for a couple of seconds and sees 1300* everytime I get on the freeway.

i can peg my guage in 5th and shift to 6 racing someone on the street and still be peg but when racing i really dont' worry cuz i'm not gonna let off just cuz she's gettin a little warm. If she blows, just build it better the next time!

another thing i wanted to mention, if you set and watch the clock for 40 seconds, its a fairly long time, we all need to remember what seems like 2 min in a truck is only just a few seconds when your running what most of us are running ( Blue , Black, and Rollin) We may see 1500+ but at those speeds its hard to judge time correctly, in reality ive probably only held mine for 30-45 seconds because theres not enough road! Last time mine came apart after about 3 months of runnings 6's and sps 66 (hg blew earlier) and my head and walls and pistons looked fine and i had run hard. Now i do agree with the post on the comp timing, i think the timing has alot to do with pistons but i dont think these setups will melt in 2 or 3 years of service, i think it takes a load and some hard pulls with it all out!

Never, I am barely above stock hp. If I see 1100 and I am letting off. I can't afford a meltdown. 1 time I saw 1250 and thought of a giant forge pouring metal out into some mold the shape of a foreign car .

Theres nothing to worry about. I see 1100* almost everytime i get up to speed. Ive seen my 1600* pyro pegged more times than i can count. Just dont hold it there for too long and you should be fine. Actually tonight after church me and my buddy are going to swap out DVs just for the heck of it. I have 191s and he has lazer cuts, so i suspect i'll be givin my pyro a REAL workout tonight
