How did you plumb your FP gauge?

I'm placing an order for a Fuel Pressure Gauge today. But, don't like to pay as much for 4' of braided tubing as the gauge.

ISSPRO has a plastic tubing kit for oil pressure which would be a higher pressure than my fuel pressure. But will it hold up to diesel fuel?

I could use copper tubing but worry about enginge vibration causing it to crack over time.

What did you use to plump your mechanical fuel pressure gauge???

I'm buying a steering column mount for it, so it will be right on top of the steering column.

Thanks.

I used approx. six feet of 1/4" ID hydraulic hose rated at 300psi from a bulk spool at a local NAPA. If I remember correctly it was only a little over $2 per ft. I have a "T" fitting inline between the filter housing and the VP with a needle valve. Been running about 18.5psi at idle for over two years now....no leaks or problems. Oh, I also used Permatex liquid thread sealant on the brass fittings.
There's a couple pics in my gallery relating to the needle valve and such, but fyi, those pics are before the FASSII. That's why you'll see the old banjo bolts.

I used nylon pressure tubing with a needle valve at the VP44 and compression fittings. I opened the needle valve just enough to get the guage to work. It doesn't require much opening of the valve at all.

I've been using plastic oil/boost pressure type tubing on both my trucks and several others for about ten years without one problem.
Just push the small tubing though some 1/4" tubing to protect against kinks, cuts and abrasion.
I for the life of me can't understand why people feel the need to use high pressure or braided hose for a measly 20 psi max. The heavy hose must be a real hassle to route around especially if your gauges are in the A-pillar.

I am using 1/4" ID hydralic hose made with the correct fittings on each end, I did it this way just because I DON'T like compression fittings. It was a little over $20 assembled at NAPA...

I placed the order.

I bought the ISSPRO tubing kit they sell for oil pressure gauges. It was $9.00 for the kit.

Also bought a ISSPRO 0-30# Fuel Pressure Gauge @ $39.75 and a steering column mount @ $29.90.

Everything with 2nd Day Air shipping was $95.00.

Bought it all at eGauges.com
