How is any of this possible??

There is a popular diesel guy in the area name Adam Winslett aka Winspeed and has one of the baddest trucks I have ever seen. Its a vp44 with a CR head and pushing 1000hp. The last dyno event I went to see his truck I noticed 3 things. I dont think these are questions about being a vp44 truck. I just want to be able to do it in my 96:

1. He is running only 1 battery.
2. No matter how long the truck is running when he shuts the truck off in doesnt make that screeching noise like every other truck.
3. When he fires his truck up it runs over with one click and fires right up.

Does anyone have any idea of how to get a truck to do any of these things???

^^^^ I second what Trashman said. And as for the "one click starts", mine does that. One of the biggest factors for that are the above mentioned "big battery with mucho cranking amps" and clean connections for it.

The belt screech can be fixed by the dealer. The alternator pulley is replaced with one that will freewheel in one direction which lets the alternator keep spinning for a few seconds after the engine abruptly shuts off (instead of trying to stop immedately), thereby eliminating the belt screech.

My 92 fires soon as the engine moves with one battery, It fires right away even at minus 35, sometimes at very, very cold temps you have to start it two or three times, but it still fires right opff

A fluidamper will also subdue the shut down chirp.

The Goodyear "Gatorback" style belt will usually eliminate it to.

DO you think the issue of using one battery and firing up after one turn over is the difference between and 12v and 24v??? I am just tryng to get my 12v valve to use one battery, fire right away (usually takes a few turn overs), and eliminate the chirping noise when it shuts down

Granted I'm not a 12v, but I am similar. My truck starts up after about a half rev, maybe a full rev if its lazy that day. On colder days, I give a blip of the throttle as I'm cranking. Even at -35, it still fired on the first rev. Might be your idle set too low so its not getting enough fuel on startup.

The chirp you might have to live with. A dual disc clutch removed any chance of it chirping, but you don't have that luxury with an auto. You could try that gatorback belt. Must be cheaper than getting an overrunning clutch on the alternator.

Why do you want to only run 1 battery? Where do you live?

.......how does the Dual disk stop the belt chirp?

I haven't had my belt chirp since around the time I put twins on and the dual disk.........I though I was losing compression or something

More rotating mass, it doesn't just stop and the accessories continue, they spin down together.
