I believe you are refering to a hot rod vp-44. It is a made with an HO pump. I know they change the plunger size and there are a few other internal mods. TST has them for about 1800.00 and I saw them at another place (cant remeber the name) for about 1600.00. From what I've been told by a couple differant outfits that make them they are supposed to add about 60RWHP.

Yes it combines the best of both HO and SO VP-44 injection pumps. It has the large volume plungers of the SO and the high discharge pressure of the HO. Its about $300 more than a replacement VP-44, so to me it makes sense to do this when you have to change the pump anyway. When you are allready spending $1,500 and have the whole thing apart, whats another $300????

Thell never say, trade secrets. My pump guy says he wont use fuel plates or injectors cause they just make a bunch of worthless smoke, but he can put me in the 250 to 300 hp range no problem on a otherwise stock engine for $800 or so, including timing and pump seals. He is one of few as I understand that has one of the trick pump machines that cost him some 30 grand or so. The things very impressive. He sure did a good job on my 93`s pump. made a tire burner and a beliver out of me.

If you put the vp44 hot rod pump in the truck will the stock injectors handle it or do you need big ones?

Sure stock injectors will work fine with it. And then when you go bigger, (which of course you will, its only a matter of time) you will really feel it.
