Hood Stack Question
Hood Stack Question
While I am planning out my perfect truck... which will be a while down the road, something has been bugging me.
I would like to have a single hood stack. Nothing but a 90 degree off the turbo, up and out the top. Question is, how do they do this while being able to open and close the hood and not having a huge hole in the hood? Any pics?

I have seen 1 hood stack in person ( Ohhh, aint I special!!) The guy had the bottom of the stack spread so that it would slide over the 'up pipe' after the turbo. He had some grooves in the bottom of the stack, and some studs sticking out of the up pipe. When he wanted to open the hood, turn the stack to the right/left, pull up, and Viola'!! It has been a few years, but I'm pretty sure that's how he had it.
See BigBadDodge's truck. Scott has one on his '97 pulling truck. It was fabbed and installed by Ponci's Diesel on California. Here's some links to pictures:
