Question Home built twins

I think that I have caught twinitis and nothing short of a turboectomy will cure me. I am not a dyno warrior or farigrounds puller, however I love street racing. I was thinking about conjuring up a set of twins with parts that I have at my shop and on my truck. Stock hx35/12 and a garrett gt42. The garrett doesn't have a wastegate and I'm not too sure about the exhaust housing size. The a/r for the exhaust is 1.15 and the intake is .60. I am hoping that some of the turbo gurus can help me out here. I am not looking for any trade secrets, just will this accomplish what I want or will it feel like I am dragging a D8 behind me. Might I be better off getting an ht3b that everyone knows works? Thank you for all of the input and yo can be sure that there will be more questions.

Russ

As much time as you will put into the piping and plumbing end of it I would sure hate to waste my time if that Garrett won't work. The larger primary turbo in a twin setup is not wastegated it is the upper or smaller turbo. That controls the boost pressure being feed into the primary turbo, which controls ulimate boost pressure and most important charge air temps.

I was thinking about doing this myself also, that ebay twin turbo kit without the turbos is 1000 bucks, does that sound like too much? I was going to use my stock hx35 for now with a HT3B and later on switch to an HX40, how does that sound?

Personally I would not spend $1000 for that piping. That is way too much for what it is. I would however consider paying $1000 for the piping from PDR, IMHO it is a much better setup as far as the plumbing is concerned.

$1000 would be too much for that piping that's for sure, the 35/3B combo will be fine and work great and even better with modified turbo's, the 40 on top would work great too but I wouldn't do it unless you really start getting up there in power, I know the 40 is fine(at least the PDR one is) as I run around at 560 hp(valet) and it works great, kind of fun without all the smoke. Building your own setup isn't that bad but you do have to have some decient fabrication skills and the tools if you want it to look good, like a tig welder is real nice but not nessary.

I think the PDR kit without the turbos is 2500. that seems like too much too. what does it come with? also if I can't fab pipes where can I go to have some bent up?
