Higher EGT with 35/40 than with HX35?
I think this makes sense...
I haven't yet installed my new injectors, so I'm still running a worn-out set of 180's (They even haze at idle). With my HX35/12 @38psi (broken wastegate actuator), I couldn't get it past 1250-1300 on a 0-80 run.
With the new turbo (HTT Stage III with 14cm WG housing, drilled the divider), it pulls harder, but I only have the fuel to make ~30psi (with the adjustable boost elbow screwed all the way down, can't blow any air through it).. BUT.. by 60mph, I can see 1400*.
HTT says around 32psi is "optimal" for this turbo, so I'm close to that..shouldn't it be running cooler?
Cruise EGT's are nearly the same, though requiring less boost (70mph is around 3-4psi now, was 7-8 before).
P.S. Those of you running a 35/40, what boost pressures have you found to be optimal for your setup?

I haven't had any of the EGT issues that your talking about, but as of boost numbers, using the banks bighead wastegate and 14cm housing that I drilled the divider, with htt 35/40 wheel, as soon as it hits 10-15lbs it almost instantly snaps to the high 30's then hits about 41lbs and stays there the whole time.

My 1st turbo upgrade was from stock HX-35 to the (STAGE III UPGRADE COMPRESSOR HOUSING AND 60mm High Flow WHEEL) but I stayed with the 12cm2 housing. In a good pull, the HX35/HX40 hybrid turbo did not perform as well as the stocker. EGT wise, I found myself backing off the throttle to stay under 1300. Both turbo's boost was set to 32 psi.
