Gauges installed, EGT's quite higher than 2nd Gen Truck

I just got the Boost, Fuel and Pyro done on my 06' and I was surprised how quick it will hit 1000 degrees completely stock. My 2nd Gen w/ mods hit around the same time but w/o mods on the old truck it was a challenge to hit 1000 degrees empty. Just thought I would share this, truck only has about 450 miles maybe that is why. New one is a 06' 3500 DRW QUad/4x4/Auto ( I need to update my sig)

That sounds like my truck. It is stock and it will go up to 1000 empty easily. I think the 04.5 and up trucks are able to take a lot of heat without getting damaged.

I have towed a 8000 lb travel trailer a lot and the truck has spent some time with the EGT at 1200 deg and nothing bad has happened. In fact, the towing and getting hot only seems to give it more power and better fuel economy.

It seems to me that you shouldn't be able to get your truck too hot if it's stock no matter what. Just think of how many people have diesel trucks without gauges.

All I have to say is MEOW, MEOW, on all 04.5's up. EGT's are normal.

Ditto for mine.

My stock engine runs at 1100 degrees when pulling hard all the time.Only 13K on it so far but had no problems yet. These temps are post turbo!!As a Cummins Marine dealer I think they are too high, but so far I haven't been able to get spec.'s on this engine from either Dodge,or Cummins.

That sounds about right post-turbo, that's around 1250-1300 pre turbo..same as the older trucks
