high idle at any temperature...kinda

i found out yesterday and today that i have a "kind of" high idle at any temperature when the truck is not warm. monday night i had forgotten to turn off my TST COMP and it was left on the highest (9) setting because i was playing around with some ricers. when i started the truck yesterday i noticed that after about 10 seconds of idling the truck ramped up to 1k rpms and stayed there. i let it warm up a few minutes then drove my 1 mile to work and shut it off again.

this morning i realized that the TST was on still and i turned it off before starting the truck...no high idle. flipped the switch and up she came to 1k and stayed there.

just thought this was neat, its not a true high idle, its just that the TST comp fuels so hard on level 9 that on a cold idle it will idle at 1k rather than the normal idle. im also not sure if this is due fully to the TST or if its a combination of the TST and HRVP44. once the truck gets to about 160* the idle drops back down and it lopes hard like a gasser with a cam...sounds awesome, and i dont think it hurts anything

The smarty kicks into high idle mode if i don't plug my truck in at night and temps drop below 25 degrees it seems.. and it has to be pretty chilly that morning when i start it too.. has done it the last two mornings.. It has snowed the last to nights tho.. but when it kicks in the RPMs kick up to like 1200 RPM.. i know i'm really annoying the neighbors in the morning when the high idle kicks in .. makes me happy.. lol Also makes me happy that i got remote start now.. so no walkin out into the cold to start the beast in the morning

Tst only fuels when it sees boost. The comp tst fuels with less boost, but do you have boost at idle??!?

Well I'll be,.... curiousity got the best of me so I went out and started the truck then started turning the tst up. Idle got rough once I hit 6 and downright shook the truck on 9. I'd never even tried 6 before, now the tst comp is starting to scare me

I leave mine on 9 all the time....never noticed anthing out of the ordinary, and definitly not a 1k rpm idle. I'll pay closer attention tomorrow morning.
I wonder if this will work with the truck having been plugged in all nite? It's 5*F right now, so she's plugged in.

I accidentally left the air intake temp. sensor unplugged when I put the head back on the truck. Sitting there idling checking for leaks and all of the sudden it ramps up to 1200 rpm's and then cuts 3 cylinders out. At that point I realized what I missed and plugged the sensor in and it returned to normal idle.

well my truck hasnt been plugged in but its been above 30*F since i put the TST on. also ph4tty and myself both have HRVP44 from industrial injection, which is prolly where the rough idle and loping come from when combined with the super aggressive fueling of the TST.

I think you're right on there GB5.9 with the HRVP44 combined with the TST. I didn't touch the skinny pedal for at least a minute this morning, and no change in idle speed. Either that or it's from being plugged in.
I've gotta take the truck in for an alignment, so I'm going to try and get them to do the flash for the high idle.

turn the TST off...no lope, turn the TST down to level 6 or lower...no lope...

7,8,9 on TST and it idles like a pro stock dragster...sounds awesome and shakes the truck. my HRVP44 idles just the same as the stock VP did, but with the TST it shakes things up a bit!

Turned the tst on 9 this morning when the truck was cold and nothing happened. I feel cheated.
