Thanx for that link.

Am curious if there is any hook up points since I don't have front tow hooks.

Looking at the DOR website pics, it doesn't look like there are, but looking at the Earthroamer version and that TDR pic, there appears to be?

Also, all the pics I've seen of the silver version look wrinkled, but the black on the website doesn't.
Was wondering if the black has that same wrinkled look in the real world.

thanx

phox
Re:HEY, Commatoze!! (Front Bumper)
Anybody know what that bumper cost from DOR? Is it made out of aluminum or SS. Looks nice, I have been looking at the bumper from buckstop, it's $1250

Re:HEY, Commatoze!! (Front Bumper)
The DOR, otherwise knows as Denver Offroad, is Aluminum.
Supposed to only weigh in at 138 pounds.
Can't remember exact price numbers, but it's comparable to the Reunell, Buckstop, UTE, etc,
somewhere around $1200-$1500.
According to the Buckstop webpage, theirs weighs in at 190 pounds more than the stock one.
So it's over 250 pounds?
Add that to the winch weight and I see springs sagging.
I just noticed that the Buckstop has both winch mount and front reciever hitch, I do like that though.
Guess I just gotta let my fingers do the walking, and call each of these guys up and see who can get me one quicker ;D
Not in a big hurry, just want it installed before my first camping/wheeling trip.

Re:HEY, Commatoze!! (Front Bumper)
Sorry, phox, but I guess jumped the gun. I don't actually have it on yet and am waiting for warmer weather. Weight was my main concern too. I would have preferred the Reunel up front, but it was just too heavy. I talked to an Reunel owner who told my his front end really dives when he applies the brakes. The DOR is up to $1500 plus freight, but I think they're worth it.
Re:HEY, Commatoze!! (Front Bumper)
Ok, I think I've figured out what to do.

Get my Skyjacker D25 springs on.
See how much they actually raise the front.

Plop my 250 lb. (high side of) butt on the front and see how much it sags it back down, maybe I will want the extra weight of a steel bumper to relieve some angle stress on the front driveline.

Anyone know how much a Warn 1200 winch weighs?

phox

Lash yourself to the front while someone brakes your truck from 60 to 0 in a panic stop.
That's the test.

BTW, the warn 12000 weighs in around 135 lbs......You're goning to need another volunteer on the front, phox :

I think both my kids might be close to 135 lbs.
If not, I'll just take them to BK beforehand.

Now just need to find someone to do the driving and quick stopping.

I think I was just swayed back to the DOR again.
That will put everything close to 300 lbs.

phox

Over on the other site, it looks like they're trying to get another group purchase going for the UTE aluminum bumper. Ironically, Layne at Denver Off Road is the US distributor for it. If you haven't seen it yet, there are picture there. Very nice.

The UTE looks like a bit much for me.

My opinion, looks like something that should be on the front of a Semi pulling a Road Train in the outback of Australia.
Bit of overkill.

I think I'm going to be calling Layne soon though, hopefully he is either on a Dodge production run, or soon starting.

phox
