Help with silver 66

Quick question. I have a friend with a 3rd gen runnin a II silver 66 and he is having issues with egt. His wastegate is dumping at 41 psi. What can we crank it to to still stay in the turbo's efficientcy range. He has the same elbow with the screw in it as mine to adjust boost. He has a high output cp3 from II, injectors, head studs, ported head, the fancy aluminum intake on the side of the head a boat load of NOS, new intercooler, ats exhaust manifold. bottom line about everything money could buy but we are having issues getting it to run right and the company that sold him all this stuff has given up helping anymore.

3rd gens can handle alot of boost. Try cranking it up to 65 or something like that. He dosn't have enough boost. No boost leaks right? Try posting in 3rd gen forum.

How big of injectors, and what kind of programing ( smarty, Tst)? 66 needs alot of fuel down low to spool it.

90 horse injectors, PPE hot downloader with a small predator box under the hood. the predator might be for rail pressure. It has a boat load of fuel. his best run with all 4 spinin for 20 feet was 13.5 at 108 mph. and a crazy slow 2.9 60 foot

Check for boost leaks if none, adjust wastegate. Try running 50-55psi, see what happens.

Hey Hotrod, I see you have the helix cam. I have heard that it can increase spoolup time by 100 to 300 rpm sooner. Do you feel it was a good upgrade cause i was thinkin of giving the swap a go. Does it change the idle sound?

Yes spool up is quicker maybe 200rpm. Egt's are lower, little less smoke and idle is quieter and smoother. TDX another plus with the cam is you can run a 12 valve liftpump. Do away with all the electric junk.
