Help with my Gauges
Help with my Gauges
I am a proud new owner of a used 99 3500. I had a Ford and sold it to get a cummins, I took the isspro gauges out at sale time and need to put em in the dodge. Where is the best place to tap the manifold for a pre egt and where the heck does the boost tube go? The cummins is all foreign to me.
Re:Help with my Gauges
Look a little farther back in this forum and you find a post I made "03 EGT Probe Location". I think you will find some, if not all, of the information you need.
Re:Help with my Gauges
For the boost gauge, there's a plug just behind the fuel filter in the manifold you can use. It's like a 1/2 NPT and needs to be reduced to 1/8 NPT for the boost fitting. If you look hard enough you can find an adapter that goes from 1/2 to 1/8 in one step. I did not think about that when I got mine so I actually went 2 steps.
Some drill and tap the air horn, but I saw no reason to complicate things when I could just remove the plug in the manifold.

For your EGT probe, see this link:
http://www.tstproducts.com/gauge_install.html

Chris
