Help With Hotrod Vp44?!

Got the dreaded p0216 code yesterday. Two days before a 4-wheeling and camping trip up north Truck would hardly get out of its own way, no smoke no power.

So my question is, which company makes a the best hotrod vp44? I know some have talked about a lope at idle with some, and that is NOT the one I want. I want a smooth idle. Also has everyones hotrod been reliable?Anyone have any issues or problems with theirs? What are these pumps costing if we are able to post that info?

Thanks in advance, I need to figure out which one to get and quickly. Bret

I don't think you'll get definite answers to your questions. Try doing a search for the HRVP44 and you get enough info to make your decision.

I'd go with Industrial Injection. Like someone else said, do some searches - the lopy idle is hit and miss, the builder doesn’t really seem to mater much on this issue. However, you HP will tend to vary from vendor to vendor - not all HRVP44's are built the same

From everything that I have herd, reliability of a HR pump is identical to a standard pump. I have had 0 issues with my pump, been in for 1.5 years, 20-30k miles...

That would be nice, I wouldn't get wierd looks when I pull in places, I don't need anymore attention, I get enough as it is.

If Marco could fix the lope, I'd very likely upgrade my Catcher to the Smarty! The lope isn't all that bothersome, but it would give me a warm fuzzy that I dont have another problem with my truck.

Can you give any insight as to what is causing this - obviously Marco knows something if he feels he could fix it. Some guys have a lope at idle, others (like myself) have a lope just off idle in a no load situation. Is Marco trying to fix one or both of these?

I'll test for you, but would need a loaner Smarty. If it would help, I can send you video of my truck doing this.
